WELCOME TO RUK-X ENGINE BUILDER 'BASE' MESOCYCLE 1.0 - Weeks 1–4 | Aerobic Base, Volume & Structural Adaptation If you've completed the Engine Builder 14 Day ‘Intro’, you've already experienced the basics of rucking and proven you can show up. Now it's time to build on those initial 14 days. If you're starting fresh with this 4-week programme: You're taking the direct path to turbo-boosting your engine. Engine Builder ‘BASE’ is the first 4 week mesocycle, in the RUK-X 12 week 3 x mesocycle Rucking based conditioning system for strength athletes, designed to build aerobic capacity, work tolerance, and mental resilience — without compromising strength. PURPOSE OF MESOCYCLE 1.0 ‘FOUNDATION’ ‘BASE’ is where the Engine Builder System earns its credibility. This phase is not about intensity, suffering, or proving toughness. It is about building the aerobic, structural, and postural foundation that allows you to tolerate — and benefit from — harder work later. PRIMARY OBJECTIVES Over the next 4 weeks you will: Expand aerobic base (Zone 2 dominance) Improve fat oxidation and work efficiency Build postural endurance under load Increase foot, ankle, hip, and trunk resilience Improve recovery between strength sessions Prepare connective tissue for harder intensities later This is base-building for athletes, not general fitness.
